We arrived safely and in great spirits! The trip from Chicago was long (8.5 hours) but not too bad. Sleeping on an airplane isn't the most restful! We easily transferred from the airport to the train in Zurich and came directly to Lucerne which took about an hour. It is as beautiful in person as it seems in photos.
Our hotel is very near the train station, so we're all set. We spent the first afternoon walking around the Old Town and taking photos. The one included here is of the Water Tower and Chapel Bridge. They were built in the 1300s as part of the city's original fort/wall. The frescos on the building fronts are just too beautiful to describe.
Today we're heading for more sightseeing and then the Dagmersellen and the beginning of the Jodelfest.
